Moving to France as an international student might be more difficult than expected:
- International residences have a limited number of places.
- Most rental ads are in French, few websites offer content in English.
- Landlords tend to favor French students because they rent their apartments for longer periods than international students. In addition, their parents can vouch for them.
And once the accommodation has been found, you must then take out home insurance – a legal obligation in France – and an electricity/gas contract. Binding procedures, especially when you have just arrived.
StudyinFrance walks you through the procedures. We also introduce you to the APL, the housing assistance for students that helps you pay your rent (up to €295/month).
